Job Responsibilities:

Ten (10) years experience in complex systems, including:

  • The physical, data link, network, transport and application layers of the Open System Interconnection (OSI) and TCP/IP reference models.
  • Design, configuration and troubleshooting of complex TCP/IP Router and switching network equipment (Hands-on experience troubleshooting and configuring a complex IP network consisting of routers and switches.).
  • Test and Evaluation policies and methods, including test plan, test procedure and test report development, and test execution.
  • Experience (such as planning, design, development, acquisition, installation, integration and/or implementation) with complex communication systems that accommodate specific user requirements.
  • Requirements development, analysis and verification.
  • A Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certificate.
  • Knowledge on using software tools to model and optimize a TCP/IP network design.
  • Network and data circuit synchronization timing.
  • Network monitoring and operations.
  • Time Division Multiplexing voice and data trunking techniques (T1 and T3).
  • Communication / telecommunication site surveys and facility installations.
  • Network tools (such as Sniffers, Traffic Generators and Network Simulators).
  • Extensive knowledge of Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) protocols.
  • Hands on testbed experience such as testbed establishment (including the physical, interface and installation requirements), testbed maintenance or testbed operations.
  • Communications Systems requirements development, analysis and verification.
  • Extensive knowledge of the FAA National Airspace System (NAS) Architecture.
  • Knowledge or experience related to FAA En Route environment experience, including requirements development and/or test experience in EAS/ERAM arena.
  • Familiarity or hands-on experience with systems such as Tower Data Link Services (TDLS).
  • Working knowledge of Terminal environment (such as Departure Clearance (DCL), Pre-Departure Clearance (PDC), Flight Data Input Output (FDIO), Digital Automatic Terminal Information Service (D-ATIS), ATC Communication Management (ACM), Controller Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC), logon, session establishment/termination and session status).
  • Data Reduction and Analysis support.
  • Hands on experience with Controller Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) or similar ATC air/ground data communications systems.

Formal Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s in a technical field (such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent curriculum from an accredited college or university; MS degree desirable but not required.
